How it works

Cull Me uP separates the cull into two lighter decisions: first Pick / Reject, then Sort Me uP — five progressive star passes to reveal the strongest images. Add Pro for the full editing session, and Nala for heavy shoots.

Step 1

Open the shoot.

SHOOT_2026_04_18/ 847 RAW · 12.4 GB · no import

Open any folder. The files stay where they are.

No catalog import. No heavy setup. Cull Me uP opens directly on your folder — local drive, external SSD, or supported file locations — and starts showing the RAW files as fast as your hardware can decode them. Your folder structure stays exactly as it was. There is nothing to migrate, nothing to revert.

Step 2

Pick / Reject.

PICK REJECT P · X · ←→

Pick, Reject, or leave it for the next pass.

The first pass is binary on purpose. Reject what is obviously gone. Pick what you clearly want. Leave the doubts unmarked. Less pressure on each click, more frames covered per minute. Stars and color labels are written to XMP. Pick / Reject and DxO-aware sidecar behavior are handled carefully where supported and validated — so your editor sees what you marked.

Step 3

Sort Me uP — the 5-pass rating mode.

PASS 3 OF 5 42 of 89 promoted

Five progressive star passes. The 5★ become your Heroes.

Sort Me uP is not a separate product — it is the rating mode inside Cull Me uP. It filters to the Picked images only, and walks you through five star passes: promote what survives, leave the rest. After five passes, your 5★ are the Heroes of the shoot. Less doubt per click. More clarity by the end.

Step 4

Prepare the session in Pro.

EXIF · XMP · IPTC f/2.8 · 1/640s · ISO 200 · 85mm

Quick Compare, synchronized zoom, metadata, export.

Once the Heroes are out, Cull Me uP Pro takes over. Compare finalists side by side. Zoom in sync. Edit IPTC, keywords, GPS. Rename in batch. Export selections — or hand the folder to your editing workflow with stars and labels already written where supported. The first hour after the shoot, done.

Step 5

Keep your selection with your files.

Stars, colors and selection metadata travel with the folder.

Your choices stay portable. Stars and color labels live in XMP sidecars next to your RAWs. DxO-aware sidecar behavior is handled carefully where supported and validated. Whatever your next step is — Lightroom, Capture One, DxO PhotoLab, or the next session in Cull Me uP Pro — the work you have already done travels with the files.

With Cull Me uP, your first pass is done.
With Cull Me uP Pro, your editing session is ready.

Coming next: Nala Assist will help Pro users organize heavy shoots before they begin. See the Nala page for what's in development.

Try the full flow on a real shoot.

The fastest way to know if Cull Me uP fits your workflow is to test it on the next folder you would normally avoid opening.
